Journey to Bethlehem

2007 Dates for Journey are as follows:
Saturday, December 8 (7:00 - 9:00 p.m.)
Sunday, December 9 (6:00 - 8:00 p.m.)

Set-up: Friday, November 23
Tear-Down: Saturday, December 15

Journey to Bethlehem is a meaningful re-enactment of events surrounding the Nativity, providing a Christmas Evangelism effort aimed at reaching our community and beyond. Participants help re-enact scenes of the Angel appearing to Mary, the journey to Bethlehem, the stable and the Magi from the east.

If you would like to share the Christmas Story with our community, then this is the ministry for you and your family. This is a chance for you to get involved in celebrating the “real reason for the season.” A wide variety of skills are needed, including scene construction and setup, actors and actresses, costume preparation, refreshments, electricians, carpenters, musical entertainment, communications, just plain helpers and others.

Time commitment: The Journey to Bethlehem takes place in front of the School along McHenry Avenue. Set-up takes place sometime Thanksgiving weekend (usually that Friday or Saturday), from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon). The re-enactment is presented later in December on a Saturday (7:00 to 9:00 p.m.) and Sunday (6:00 to 8:00 p.m.).
